So if its a "How do you? Why do you? or "Why can't you?" question about Sweepstakes, Contests, or Games...ask Bruce...He's the Expert!
Canadian Sweepstakes I heard that for sweepstakes in Canada you need to include in the rules that the winner must answer a skill-based question to redeem their prize. Is this still true and what does a skill-based question mean? Yes, Canadian winners are still required to answer a skill based question correctly in order to receive their prize.
online contest - where to start We are publishing an online special issue and want to include a contest for all U.S. online visitors. What’s invloved to do this? Is there a list of agencies that help with online contests? There are a number of steps that must be taken to ensure that your promotion is legal in the US.
legal text required on-pack I am running a game with a large amount of legal/rules information needed on a relativly small package. What is the rule of thumb on what is actually nessessary? Can you get around having the info on-pack if you direct towards a website for the information? The answer may vary slightly depending on the specifics of the promotion, but in general we feel that there are certain mandatories that must appear on pack. Included in them at a minimum are the no purchase necessary information, promotion dates, void where prohibited info, entrant reatrictions and where the full rules will be available.
Relative Relationship Question The MasterCard “Win a home” for $350,000. Sweepstakes rules state that you cannot enter if one of your relatives works for MasterCard, or Best Buy. My older son works at Best Buy in Florida. We live in NC. We get no perks from Best Buy, (not even discounts as parents)…. Can we still enter this contest. I sent a note to the MasterCard Contact for the sweeps and never heard anything in return. Thanks, HGD Marianne I would say that you are ineligible to enter the sweepstakes. Generally when we say "families" we mean parents, children, siblings, spouse, grandparents.
